Decided to stop in for the first time to see how the breakfast was. It was definitely worth it! I ordered the country fried skillet and it was delicious! Our server did a wonderful job checking in and kept the coffee coming. The prices are fair and I'll definitely be back to try other items!

Fantastic breakfast stop on our road trip from Chicago to Wisconsin. Get the Slammer. Not one but TWO breakfast sandwiches made with cinnamon French toast bread, eggs, sausage and cheese and a huge side of hashbrowns - YUM.

Sycamore needed a place like this. Better than the name brand family restaurants. Staff treat you like family, prices are fair, and portions..more than expected. Take the family, booths and corner circle booths and tables. Might want to check wait times, we got there early, 3 tables occupied. When we left, people were waiting for one. That should tell you how good Rise and Shine is. We will be back!

Wanting some brisk success and gravy and this place was a good place to try it. Hash browns were crispy. The biscuits and gravy were done well. I thought it was an overall good experience. The waitress Lynette was really on top of her game despite being very busy.

Since we moved here in June we've been about six times. I love the Slammers for breakfast and my wife loves the gyro omelette. The service has always been excellent and the food is awesome. Even when packed, there is always a table opening up. I can eat cheaper here than at McDonald's next door and get better food! We'll be back more and more.

Fabulous diner experience y'all! Our waitress Grace was super attentive and so sweet! The hostess, who may have been the owners wife? Not sure, but super sweet and attentive as well. This place is Clean y'all! Clean floors, booths, and Bathrooms! My hubby had the breakfast Slammer dish which was hashbrowns with Cinnamon swirl bread, sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches. 2 of them! And they were generous! He loved them! I had the Santa Barbara cheeseburger which was Fabulous! Avacado, bacon, thousand island sauce. Yumm! I definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody or any family when you're in the Dekalb Illinois area. We will be back! Thank you!

Charming local family diner with great food! We stopped here during a road trip and were pleasantly surprised. The service was quick, the food was fresh, and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for the staple Midwestern family diner, this is it! Great food. Great prices. Friendly service. My little ones love "the pancake place". I love the cinnamon roll French toast So good!
